5G-DRIVE was at the latest 20th Infocom World Conference 2018.
The 20th Infocom World 2018 Conference, considered the “greatest ICT & Media Conference in South-Eastern Europe” was held in Athens, Greece, on November 21, 2018. It is widely regarded as “the major annual meeting of all the digital market stakeholders” in order to implement Digital Transformation, following to current market needs and/or challenges.
Infocom World 2018, themed “New Horizons: The Techonomy of Gigabit Era!” focused on several modern challenges that could support the process towards restructuring the modern economy for the benefit of the society, via promoting digital innovation and growth, especially within the dawn of the “Gigabit era”.
One of the sessions organised by 5G-DRIVE partner OTE (Hellenic Telecommunications Organization S.A.) was titled “5G-DRIVE”-based Session (“Cooperation between EU and China in the context of the 5G-DRIVE Research Project for enhanced Mobile Broadband (eMBB) and “Vehicle-to-Everything” (V2X) applications – Scenarios, Use Cases and Essential Technological Background for Trials”). This session was organised as part of OTE’s leadership of WP2, in cooperation with partner SmartNet S.A., in order to identify and correlate, to the extent possible and where potentially relevant, challenges and efforts between the 5G-DRIVE and 5G ESSENCE projects (especially related to the intended NFV applications).
In the context of the aforementioned session and others, there have been many opportunities for interaction and for exchange of information and/or experiences between all involved EU-funded projects and other related activities. Infocom World 2018 was attended by more than 3,000 participants have joined the full Infocom World 2018 Event.
