5G-DRIVE was present at the World IoT Exposition 2018 held in Wuxi, China.
The World IoT (WIOT) Exposition 2018, which was held from September 15-18, 2018, is China’s largest IoT event, attracting over 500 companies, including many Chinese technology giants.
The 2018 edition highlighted five themes in its exhibitions, including a communication and platform support system exhibition, a smart manufacturing and sensor thematic exhibition, a smart life exhibition, a smart transportation and Internet of Vehicle exhibition and a smart city exhibition. The WIOT 2018 also hosted the world’s first city-level Internet of Vehicle LTE-V2X (vehicle to everything) demonstration, which was officially presented to the public during the event.
5G-DRIVE was presented within the framework of the Smart Intelligent and Internet of Vehicles Industry Development Forum. Partner Martel facilitated presentations linked to EU-China collaboration. One presentation addressed the 5G-DRIVE project and was delivered by Maxime Flament, from the 5G Automotive Association (5GAA). A second presentation was delivered by Joachim Göthel from BMW, also a partner in 5G-DRIVE, which presented the company’s overall strategy on 5G and V2X, outlining its cooperation with China.
